Coach Woods embarrassed by York City Knights defeat
Woods' side have yet to win a league game this season
York City Knights coach Dave Woods has admitted he was "embarrassed" with his side's performance in the 50-12 defeat by Hunslet Hawks.
The Knights took an early lead but Hunslet led 18-6 half-time before dominating the second half.
Woods told BBC Radio York: "They were just poor. Not good enough and I'm embarrassed.
"The standard they played today is not up to Championship One level let alone this level."
He continued: "There were probably five or six referee errors to be fair but that's not why you can't make tackles and you lose balls on one and two tackles.
"The first 10 minutes were good and then from there is was just downhill. Just poor."
The Knights have a quick turn around now as they face Toulouse on Easter Monday.
And Woods has warned he may make changes to his side: "There may be a few blokes that can put their passports away because I think we need to start giving some of the younger blokes a go if they're going to put displays in like that."
The result leaves York at the bottom of the table without at win this season.
