Hull Kingston Rovers have sold all of their 1,500 ticket allocation for next month's Challenge Cup clash at York. The fourth round tie on 8 May has been made all ticket - and York, who have so far sold 800 tickets to home fans, can make more available to the Robins. Knights general manager Ian Wilson told BBC Radio York: "There are still tickets available for the York public. "We would urge anyone even considering coming to the game to get in touch now to make sure they get into the game." He added: "We're up to about 800 at the moment, so we've got just over 2,000 gone altogether, which is very good considering the game is still two weeks away." | Hull KR could quite easily have sold that two maybe three times over with it being a real local game for them Knights general manager Ian Wilson |
The capacity on the day will be around 4,000, with additional standing areas created behind each set of goal posts. "It's very pleasing," said Wilson. "It's also good to have a large away following. "It creates a much better atmosphere at away grounds when you've got two sets of supporters, as well as the two teams battling it out on the field. "Hull KR could quite easily have sold that two maybe three times over with it being a real local game for them." York will monitor ticket sales over the next week before deciding whether to increase the number of tickets available to Hull KR.
