Catic was part of the Raiders side that won the 2009 Grand Final |
Barrow Raiders second row Ned Catic believes the Championship play-offs offer the side a chance to avenge their disappointing league form this season. The 2009 Grand Final winners languished 17 points behind leaders Featherstone in the league, but Catic sees the knock-out stages as a brand new start. "It feels like a clean slate, a fresh start," Catic told BBC Radio Cumbria. "There are no more excuses, we can go out there and throw everything at the teams we're up against." Catic added: "We've got an opportunity to put things right and the cards are starting to fall our win with the home draw against Widnes. "There's so much more to play for, everyone's buzzing and is down to us to put it right on game day." Raiders take on Widnes, their 2009 conquerors in the Northern Rail Cup, in their play-off opener on Sunday.
