Clark has returned to help McCormack on Barrow matchdays |
Barrow coach Steve McCormack has said he is delighted to have former head coach Dave Clark back at Craven Park as his assistant on match days. Clark is community development officer at Super League side Wigan during the week but was back alongside McCormack for Saturday's win against Leigh. "It's great," McCormack told BBC Radio Cumbria. "It's someone to bounce ideas off and we've always got on well." Raiders won the Championship Grand Final last season under Clark. He had two spells in charge during the season, and began this year as assistant to McCormack before his full-time move to the DW Stadium in February. Meanwhile, McCormack believes the impact of dual-registration players could be crucial in the destination of honours this season. McCormack's side have eased back into contention at the top of the table, notably with victory against second-placed Leigh on Saturday. Raiders had Huddersfield wing Jermaine McGillvary available on his dual-registration basis, a fact McCormack believes was key to the victory. McCormack added: "It's nice to have quality players back. You've seen what the dual registrations have done for Leigh. "The next few weeks could be important in terms of when you have dual registration players available."
