Henderson joined Barrow from Gateshead during the winter break |
Barrow coach Steve McCormack has warned his players he expects more from them ahead of the Championship opener with Leigh Centurions on Thursday. Last season's minor premier and Grand Final winners have won two and lost one of the three Northern Rail Cup games they have played so far this season. "We've shown promise and we've improved with each game we've played," he said. "However, we're also aware that there's a lot more improvement needed before we get as good as we can be." Raiders half-back pair James Coyle and Liam Campbell could both return for Steve McCormack's first league fixture in charge of the Raiders. | HOW HAVE THE CHAMPIONS STARTED? Last season's success was in large part down to McCormack's predecessor Dave Clark, who is set to leave the club in March to take up a post as community rugby league coach at Super League side Wigan Warriors. McCormack himself guided Gateshead Thunder to safety with wins against Halifax, Widnes, Leigh, Toulouse and Barrow - whose title celebrations were delayed by the defeat - before leaving the club in the summer to take up the post at Craven Park.
