Whitehaven's bid to finish top of the Championship were dealt a blow following a heavy 58-10 defeat by Widnes at the Stobart Stadium. Widnes ran in 30 unanswered points in the second half, as centre Richard Varkulis and prop Richard Fletcher both picked up a brace. The Marras had earlier celebrated two scores from centre Rob Jackson and loose forward Scott McAvoy. Haven are now third in the table, three points behind leaders Barrow.
