Whitehaven kept up the pace on the league leaders in the Championship with a 36-22 defeat of Leigh Centurions at the Recreation Ground on Sunday. A last-gasp goal from Leroy Joe denied the North West club a bonus point, but it was wing Craig Calvert who had the most impact, running in four tries. Fellow wing Ade Adebisi notched twice, while scrum-half Gregg McNally kept up his remarkable kicking with five goals. Leigh ran in four tries but were unable to clinch a vital bonus score.
