Whitehaven have signed Carcassonne scrum-half Amar Sabri on a short-term deal until the end of the season. Sabri, 20, is a former team-mate of Tongan centre Saia Makisi, who played for the Marras last season, and is a France 'A' international. He also spent a period on trial with Super League side Leeds in late 2008. Haven offered another short-term deal to compatriot Rachid Ahlalou last week, and he made his reserve grade debut against Doncaster on Saturday.
