Bauer ran in a try in the 46-16 loss

Barrow slipped to a disappointing 46-16 defeat by Batley at Mount Pleasant in the Championship on Sunday.

Dave Clark's side, who remain just a point off top spot, conceded eight tries as the Yorkshire strugglers upset the form book to run out clear winners.

Raiders trailed 16-6 at the break, prop Jamie Mossop running in the solitary try for the visitors.

After the break Batley extended their lead with five tries, Andreas Bauer and Andy Ellis replying for Barrow.

Halifax's defeat by Gateshead at the International Stadium means they remain a point clear of Barrow, having gained a bonus point in their 34-28 loss on Tyneside.
