York City Knights' biggest sponsors have announced they have increased the deal by almost five per cent. Advanced Scaffolding's name will be on the shirts for 2009 and the five-figure deal is the first shirt sponsor at the Knights for two years. Coach Paul March told BBC Radio York: "Credit to the sponsors for digging deep. They can see something in this team and this club." "I'm glad for that and we just want to repay them." The owner of the company Les Robinson, made the decision after speaking to fans at the club's launch night and receiving phone calls and e-mails thanking him for supporting the club. | For two Super League clubs to let us use their facilities is great Knights' coach Paul March |
Meanwhile March says preparations for the forthcoming season have been going well. "We've just been in the gym at the minute and bulking up a bit and doing a lot of core stuff. "We're still going to train down at Huntington. There's going to be a lot of track work now for conditioning and we'll do a bit of ball work. "We've been using Wakefield Trinity Wildcats' gym for weights and we appreciate that, and we're going to use Leeds Rhinos' Kirkstall training ground on a Sunday morning. "For two Super League clubs to let us use their facilities is great," he said.
