York City Knights have made another two signings for the 2009 season.

Centre Mike Mitchell has joined from Hull FC. The 23-year old was with Hull for five years and he has also represented Great Britain Students.

Garry Green is a 28-year-old Australian prop forward who spent last season with Batley Bulldogs.

Coach Paul March said: "Mike comes highly recommended from a number of people. Garry has the potential to be a very good national league prop."

Green did not feature for Batley's first team last season because of work commitments. However he has now set up his own business and can commit fully to playing rugby league.

March added: "He played against our reserve grade on the opening game of last season and I think he scored with his second or third carry.

"He is not the tallest prop but is very well built and will add competition for places in the front row.

"He is really looking forward to pre season and is determined to show everyone what he is capable of."

March says Mitchell has a good reputation within the game and he was delighted to bring him to the club.

"He will add competition for places in the centres and he is keen on pushing for a regular first-team place."
