York City Knights have signed second-row forward Jordan Ross. The 24-year-old, who has been playing in Australia, is a product of Leeds Academy and has also played for Keighley Cougars and Rochdale Hornets. Knights general manager Ian Wilson told BBC Radio York: "He'll be able to add something to our squad for next year." "We've got a recommendation from Jason Ramshaw who was the former assistant-coach for us who's now living out there in Perth." Wilson also said the club are not far away from completing their squad for next season. | It's quite unique that we've just about got our 2009 squad sorted Knights general manager Ian Wilson |
"We've probably got a couple more signings to go, hopefully that will add a little bit more experience and a bit more quality." Most of the 30-strong Knights squad are re-signings from last season's fairly successful League Two campaign, in which they made the promotion play-offs but lost to Rochdale. "It was a young side that Paul [March] and James [Ratcliffe] put together at the start of the year so it was going to take a bit of time to gel," Wilson added. "We're hoping for some continuity and hopefully that will allow us to start the season well next year. "It's quite unique that we've just about got our 2009 squad sorted for next season. "You always add to your squad throughout the year when you get injuries but it'll give us a good starting base."
