York City Knights have re-signed winger Steve Lewis for the 2009 season. After a slow start the 21-year-old former Wakefield Trinity player ended the season in excellent form, scoring 11 tries in 10 games. Academy players Dan Hunter and Joe Stearman have also been awarded first-team contracts for next season. The Knights have now signed up a core of 21 first-team players, along with another eight who have come up through the academy. Of the players who helped the Knights reach the National League Two promotion play-offs, 18 have re-signed for next season. The three new signings are centre Adam Jones, prop forward Chris Clough and second row forward Kris Peacock.
