York City Knights have said they are disappointed their friendly game against Fiji, scheduled for Sunday, 14 December, has been cancelled. The Knights believe Fiji were offered a "substantial appearance fee" to play at Barrow instead. Knights general manager Ian Wilson told BBC Radio York: "It feels like we've been used, they've just got a better offer from somebody else. "It had all been agreed, we had a lot of things in place." Knights had arranged to play the game at Heworth as their own ground was unavailable. Wilson added: "I personally had spent a day or two ringing round, our commercial manager has spent time ringing up to try and get sponsors and had actually been successful with a couple as well. "Not only have people spent time and money on it but also people at Heworth."
