Workington Town ended a turbulent week by defeating Gateshead Thunder 68-0 at the Derwent Park Stadium on Monday. Town scored 12 tries, including three from Andrew Beattie, to give their fans something to cheer about after a frustrating start to the season.
Following head coach Ged Stokes' suspension while an alledged incident with a Barrow fan is investigated, Town had crashed 46-10 to Barrow on Friday.
Coaches Craig Barker and Les Ashe are temporarily in charge of team affairs.
Elsewhere, Whitehaven overcame Leigh 18-12 away from home and Barrow Raiders had a narrow escape away to Swinton, eventually winning 35-30.
