Isle of Man teenager Grant Halsall won a silver medal in the 100m backstroke final at the European Youth Olympics in Finland on Friday. The 15-year-old recorded a time of 57.60 seconds in the final, just 0.85 outside his own island record. The race was won by Spain's Matthew Mcmanemy in a time of 56.55 seconds. Halsall also swam in the heats of the 4x100m medley relay on Friday, in which the Great Britain team qualified for the final. Halsall did not swim in the final, in which GB finished fourth. Earlier in the week the young Manx swimmer won the Bronze medal in the 200m backstroke.
