Jersey's swimmers added another nine medals to their Island Games tally after a successful day in the pool. Ian Black continued his dominance after winning two golds in Aland in his second day of competing. Black took gold in the men's 400m individual medley, finishing in a new Games record time of 4:23.19. His second gold came in the men's 50m breaststroke event where he beat silver Pal Joensen of the Faroe Islands by just 0.41 seconds. Black also made up part of the Jersey men's 4x50m freestyle relay team that took silver, beaten to the gold by a Games record-setting Guernsey side that finished in a time of 1:33.28. Black's was not the only pool medal of the day as Katie Speller took gold in the women's 200m individual medley, finishing 3.26 seconds faster than second-placed Olivia Rawlinson of the Isle of Man. Ebony Jacklin won a joint-gold medal in the women's 400m individual medley with Shaila Millum Gardoarnar of the Faroe Islands, both finishing in a time of 29.11. It was a double medal win for Jersey in the women's 800m freestyle as sisters Katy and Emma Glendening took silver and bronze respectively. Charlotte Manning added silver to the already impressive Jersey swimming tally, coming second to Faroe Island's Malan Vitalis Baerendsen in the women's 200m breaststroke. Jersey's women also took the silver in the 4x50m medley relay beaten to the gold by an on-form Faroe Islands side who set a new Games record time of 1:85.86 to take gold.
