Madeline Perry is currently ninth in the world rankings

Madeline Perry was beaten in three straight sets by top seed Alison Waters of England in the final of the Cannon Kirk Irish Open in Dublin on Saturday.

Perry had qualified with a convincing 9-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-3 win over New Zealand's Jaclyn Hawkes.

Perry from Banbridge had beaten Delia Arnold in the last eight.

Number one seed and world number seven Thierry Lincou won the men's final against Mohamed El Shorbagy by three sets to nil.
