Madeline Perry lost to former world number one Natalie Grainger in the quarter-finals of the Women's World Open in Belfast on Friday night. Eighth seed Perry had lost in all four previous meetings between the two and she lasted just half an hour in front of home support at the Ulster Hall.
American Grainger, seeded 14, won 9-2, 9-4, 9-5 and now plays Natalie Grinham in Saturday's semi-finals.
Australian Grinham beat England's Tania Bailey 9-5, 10-8, 9-5.
Her third-seeded sister, Rachael Grinham, saw off Laura-Jane Lengthorn of England, the 11th seed, 9-2 9-3 9-6 in 34 minutes.
She meets first seed and holder Nicol David who defeated Omneya Abdel Kawy of Egypt 10-8, 9-2, 9-4.
