Guernsey's snooker team for the Home Internationals in Prestatyn |
Guernsey's top snooker players begin their season this weekend as they represent the island on the international stage. The island team is heading to Prestatyn to play in the Home Internationals. Six of the side played last year when Guernsey registered draws with the Republic of Ireland and France. "We currently have a good crop of extremely talented players," said Martin Robert from the Guernsey Billiards and Snooker Association. Guernsey open up with a difficult match against last year's runaway winner England on Saturday, before playing Wales. They face Northern Ireland, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland on Sunday and finish on Monday against the Isle of Man and France. Adam Shorto captains the side that consists of Adrian Holley, Glenn Le Prevost, Jez Rowe, John Skillett and Martyn Desperques, with Chris Lowe travelling as referee.
