Jersey have beaten Guernsey 622.5 to 598.5 to win the secondary schools' athletics inter-insular. Jersey only won three sections, the senior and under 17 women and the under 13 boys, but their margins of victory in those events were enough to win. Eight Jersey women broke island records as they thrashed Guernsey's women. "Absolutely brilliant," said Jersey coach Andrew Winnie. We won the overall trophy so it's very satisfying," he added on BBC Jersey. Claire Forbes got an island record in the women's 1,500m, as did Jenna Murphy in the high jump, Grace Bravery in the triple jump, Romi Smith in the Hammer and junior Shadine Duqueman in the shot put. Nicola Milner broke the record in the 800m while there were age group records for Felicity Johnson Deely and Lauren Lowe in their 1,500m races.
