Iles is an amateur sailor who has taken a sabbatical in order to join the professional ranks on GBR Challenge.

The 35-year-old's "day job" with BAE Systems means he will bring an in-depth knowledge of aerodynamics to the team, particularly in his role as a specialist sail trimmer.

He has also built a name for himself in the world of sailing for performances on the Farr 40 circuit.
