At the age of 26, Sydenham has a growing reputation on the international sailing scene as a trimmer.

However, he has also helmed with great distinction over recent years and has won the World Youth Match Racing Championship on two occasions.

He was a member of Andy Beadsworth's 2000 Olympic crew which finished 12th.
