The double Olympic silver medallist will be the face of Britain's first America's Cup campaign in 15 years. As well as skippering the GBR Challenge, Walker is the sailing manager, responsible for both the team selection and the sailing programme. Walker won his first Olympic medal in Atlanta crewing in the 470 class competition. Four years later, he won a second silver with Mark Covell in the Star class. The 32-year-old was also named Yachtsman of the Year in 2000. He has also worked as a tactician in the Admirals Cup as well as on victorious crews in the Sardinia Cup and Oscar Strugstad's Dawn Raid crew in 2001. |
