Bodman won three medals at the Ghent International Regatta

Guernsey rower Erica Bodman has made an excellent start to her season with a clutch of medals.

Bodman won three medals at the Ghent International Regatta in Belgium at the weekend and silver at the British University Championships in Nottingham.

The former island high jumper said: "It is still really new so I'm learning a great deal with each race, which is really encouraging.

"It's good to be getting competition which is really important to me."

Bodman added that her impressive medal haul in Ghent included: "A bronze in the quad on Saturday, gold in the double on the Sunday and silver in my single on Sunday."

"I was probably most pleased with my silver in the single, because obviously that is all my own work," she said.
