Manchester Phoenix have clinched the English Premier League title after a 5-2 win over Swindon Wildcats. Pavel Gomeniuk and James Archer gave Phoenix an early lead but player-coach Tony Hand was handed a match penalty forcing him out of the game. Further goals from Steve Wallace, Curtis Huppe and another for Archer though clinched the two points needed. It is the first piece of silverware for the Altrincham-based club since forming after Manchester Storm folded.
