Danny Meyers wants discipline from Nottingham Panthers
Meyers led Panthers to Challenge Cup victory last season
Nottingham Panthers captain Danny Meyers says his side must keep their composure against Sheffield Steelers in the Challenge Cup on Wednesday.
Panthers suffered a shock 4-1 home loss to their arch rivals in the Elite League last month and Meyers said they only had themselves to blame.
Meyers told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We need to be a lot more disciplined.
"It's true to say that the referee did not have his greatest game but at the same time we really lost our heads."
Meyers, whose side have won five Elite League games on the bounce to move back up to second in the table, said it is imperative they do not allow the intense atmosphere to affect them.
"These games are highly emotional what with the rivalry and we have to stay focused," he added.
"There could be a tendency to be thinking about the last game when we played Sheffield and kind of got embarrassed."
The match against Sheffield Steelers starts at 1930 BST.
