Nottingham Forest strikers Garath McCleary and Nathan Tyson may need surgery on their knee problems.

Both players were named on the bench for Saturday's fixture against Ipswich despite their injuries.

But Reds boss Billy Davies said: "Nathan has a knee injury which we are very concerned about and Garath has tendonitis in his knee.

"The medics are concerned they might need operations but we are trying to avoid that if we can."

Davies continued: "The advice from the medical people is we might be able to avoid it but, as things drag on, we are getting to the point where we might not have any choice."
