Rzeszutko won a bronze medal with Poland at the World Championships |
Newcastle Vipers have signed forward Jaroslaw Rzeszutko from Polish side Energa Stoczniowiec Gdansk for the 2010-11 Elite League season. The 23-year-old is a Poland international, and coach Danny Stewart is delighted to have added a player of Rzeszutko's calibre to his squad. "He is a genuine international class forward," Stewart said. "His three goals in the Worlds last year show his ability. He's only 23 years old and he can only improve." World Championship bronze medallist Rzeszutko has an impressive record in his native country, scoring 29 goals in 48 games last season, with 31 assists. | To the Newcastle fans I can promise I will leave my heart on the ice and fight to the last second of the game Vipers forward Jaroslaw Rzeszutko |
However the player believes a move to England represents a step-up in his career, and is keen to test himself against the division's best. "When my agent told me about Newcastle's interest I didn't take long to make my decision. The Elite League has many talented players, and I am looking forward to playing in the League," Rzesutko told the club website. "I always give as much as possible to my team, and to the Newcastle fans I can promise I will leave my heart on the ice and fight to the last second of the game."
