Archer impressed last season at the Rays |
Hull Stingrays have signed Sheffield Scimitars forward James Archer for the upcoming Elite league campaign. The 22-year-old former Coventry man played four games for the Rays last season, scoring two goals. Rays coach Sylvain Cloutier told BBC Radio Humberside: "I tried to sign James last season but he'd already agreed to play for Sheffield. "He did a great job when we brought him up on a two-way contract last season and he'll add a lot to us this year." Archer will get to train full-time for the first time since leaving Coventry where he was part of their junior programme and Cloutier said: "He can play a physical game but he can also chip in offensively so I'll be expecting big things out of James."
