Invicta Dynamos' record point scorer Elliot Andrews has played his last game for the club.

He waved goodbye to his playing career after Sunday's play-off victory over Oxford City Stars, having scored 605 points for the club.

Andrews told BBC Radio Kent: "I was a bit overwhelmed, especially when I got back in the room with the boys.

"This is where it all started for me 26 years ago, this is where it finished tonight but I've got no regrets."

He added: "It was time. I just can't do the things I used to do and take for granted. It's time and I've had a great career."

Andrews first played for the Dynamos in 1997 and was a major part of the team that won the English Premier League in 2002.

After spells with Romford and Chelmsford he returned to the club in 2007 and has won the English National Ice Hockey League South Division title every year since.

He ended his career by scoring twice in the Dynamos 14-3 win over Oxford, and was also voted man of the match in his 369th game for the club.

Dynamos' coach Kevin Parrish added: "Fitting for him, he ends his career on a high.

"He's been a true professional, he plays with a smile on his face, he knows when to laugh and knows when to be the go-to guy.

"He comes in with 60 points every year and I wish him all the best. You cant replace a guy like that, his name will go down as a legend. Every team he's been to he has been influential."
