Invicta Dynamos coach Parrish plays down title chances

Kevin Parrish
Parrish is hoping to take the Dynamos to a seventh successive league title

Invicta Dynamos coach Kevin Parrish is playing down his side's chances of winning the English National Ice Hockey League South Division title.

The Medway side have lost just twice this season and currently have a seven-point lead at the top of the table.

"We've got some tough games coming up," Parrish told BBC Radio Kent.

"In the first half of the season we played the lesser teams in our league and were able to pick up points, while other teams were beating each other."

Parrish believes that the Dynamos' biggest rivals for the title will be Chelmsford and Cardiff, who each have a game in hand.

"Hopefully someone can take some points off them," added Parrish.

"I know that Cardiff do drop points every now and then, but Bracknell are also catching up at the end too.

"We've just got to be on our game week in and week out and just hope that other teams around us get beaten and we don't drop points.

"At the start of the season we got off to a good run - 16 games unbeaten, while the other top teams were beating each other all over the place.

"At this moment I'd definitely take the lead we've got going into the last few games of the season."
