Nottingham Panthers' Danny Meyers eyes tough weekend
Meyers believes his side are in a 'pretty decent' league position
Nottingham Panthers captain Danny Meyers expects a tough weekend against Elite League basement clubs Edinburgh and Hull this weekend.
The defenceman told BBC Radio Nottingham: "If you don't give them the respect they deserve then you will get beaten. It is a huge weekend for us.
"Every time we've played them this year it's been an absolute battle and I expect nothing less."
Hull lie at the foot of the league with Edinburgh third from bottom.
The Panthers are currently one point off Elite League leaders Belfast.
The 26-year-old said. "Right now the weekend before Christmas, we sit in a pretty decent position.
"I know teams have games in hand on us but we feel pretty good about our chances.
"If we can get to February with our home form so good, hopefully we can be in a nice position when we play Coventry and Belfast but we've got to give respect to Cardiff and Newcastle too."
Panthers face Edinburgh at home on Saturday and travel to play the Stingrays on Sunday.
