Peter Taylor 'interested' in Notts County manager role
Taylor is friends with director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson
Peter Taylor has admitted he would be interested in succeeding Hans Backe as the new manager of Notts County.
Backe, 57, resigned on Tuesday after just seven weeks and nine games in charge at Meadow Lane.
The former Wycombe Wanderers and England Under-21 boss was interested in the job before Backe's appointment.
Taylor said: "I've not had any contact with Notts County but it's a job I would certainly be interested in - the same as last time."
I have to admit I want to get back into the game

Taylor, 56, said: "I understand there's been something in the papers again but it's just speculation. Who hasn't been linked with Notts?
"It's an appealing job and it would be disrespectful for me to say I wasn't interested because Notts County is a very good football club.
"I've been out of work for a while now and I have to admit I want to get back into the game.
"But it's all right me saying I would be interested though, it's up to the club. If something happens I will deal with it then."
Taylor said he was good friends with director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson.
"Sven knows I know the level Notts are playing at very well and I also know a lot of players."
Eriksson has pledged his future at the club despite the departure of friend Backe.
Executive chairman Peter Trembling completed his takeover of the club on Saturday from previous owners Munto Finance only five months after the Middle Eastern consortium took over at Meadow Lane.
Assistant manager Dave Kevan has taken temporary control of the first team.
