Belfast Giants got back to winning ways against Hull Stingrays after two Elite League defeats over the weekend. Colin Shields scored twice for the Giants at the Dundonald Ice Bowl on Wednesday with the others coming from Craig Peacock and Brandon Benedict. Scottish goalkeeper Stephen Murphy made 30 saves to record his first shut-out as a Giants player. Giants coach Steve Thornton played his first match of the season having recovered from a wrist injury. He came in for skipper George Awada who sat out the game with a sore shoulder.
