The Belfast Giants regrouped from Saturday's 4-1 defeat by Nottingham in their Elite League opener to beat Hull Stingrays 3-2 away on Sunday evening.

Summer signings Pierre-Luc Faubert and Brandon Benedict put the Giants 2-0 before Jeff Glowa pulled a goal back for Hull late in the opening period.

Evan Cheverie extended Belfast's lead in the final period before Matt Reynolds replied for the Stingrays.

The Giants will next face Sheffield in their first home game on Saturday.

The Odyssey clash (1900 BST) will see the Giants welcoming last season's Elite League champions.

In Saturday's game, Ross Dalgleish and Cameron Mann scored for the Panthers in the opening period while Sean McAslan made it 3-0 near the end of the second period.

Colin Shields pulled a goal back for the Giants soon after but Mann grabbed his second of the game in the fourth period to secure the points.
