Sheffield forward Rod Sarich admits the Steelers need to kick-start their season with two strong performances against the Cardiff Devils.

The double champions have begun their defence of the Elite League title with two defeats and one penalty shot win.

Sarich told BBC Radio Sheffield "It's momentum you have got to build then you get some confidence and then it comes with winning and hard work.

"We all want to win and so we'll stick together and make sure we improve."

The Steelers face the Devils on Saturday night at the Cardiff Bay Arena and then the two sides return to South Yorkshire for the second match on Sunday.

"They will be tough, their building is small and they physical, and every game we play against them there always seems to be some kind of altercation or other," added Sarich.

"The league has got tougher and tougher every year that I have played over here and this year it is even stronger.

"Some of the traditionally lower teams have improved a lot over the summer and so it's going to a much tougher league.

"There is no doubt in my mind that you are going to have to work very hard for the points night in night out."
