Belfast's Evan Cheverie has his shot saved by JF Perras at Dundonald |
The Belfast Giants beat Coventry Blaze 4-1 at the Dundonald Ice Bowl to secure their place in the Challenge Cup final with a 5-2 aggregate success. The first leg at Coventry last week had ended in a 1-1 draw. Colin Shields put Belfast ahead in the first period and Jason Rushton made it 2-0 in the second period. Erik Hjalmarsson pulled one back for Coventry in the third period but strikes by Steve Thornton and George Awada ensured the Giants' passage.
