Steve Thornton's Giants beat Manchester 8-2 in the league

The Belfast Giants stormed back from a goal down to hammer Manchester Phoenix in the Elite League on Sunday night.

After Paul Deniset of the Giants scored the opener in the 31st minute, Phoenix hit back with two from Luke Fulghum.

The Giants then rattled in seven without reply from Deniset (2), Colin Shields, Dave Phillips, Evan Cheverie, Bobby Robins and George Awada.

The Giants play again on Wednesday when they are at home to league leaders Sheffield Steelers.
