| Fight Your Corner recovers Johnston is hopeful that Fight Your Corner will be fine Trainer Mark Johnston is hopeful Fight Your Corner can make a recovery from the serious leg injury sustained in the Vodafone Derby. The horse, who finished fifth in the Epsom Classic, is currently recuperating after undergoing surgery which saw three screws inserted into his hind canon bone. "It is not thought to be life-threatening so long as all goes well," Johnston said. "He'll have screws fitted to a condular fracture of the hind canon bone and the surgeons were suggesting that the long-term outlook is good." Fight Your Corner was a late entry to the blue riband race at a cost of 90,000 after being bought by Sheikh Mohammed for one of his sons. The Michael Jarvis-trained Coshocton had to be humanely destroyed after fracturing his near-fore leg in the final furlong of Saturday's race. |
