David Nicholls saddled 11 of the 26 runners and his block entry yielded the winner Merlin's Dancer, ridden by his son Adrian, and the fourth Albashoosh.
Merlin's Dancer, who finished fourth at Goodwood on Wednesday, made all the running under the stands rails.

Jimmy Fortune made it a hat-trick of wins on day four at Goodwood, Jonquil giving trainer John Gosden a second triumph of the day.
Mirroring Friday's first race, Kieren Fallon, on Looks Could Kill, was forced into second behind Fortune - but 11-4 favourite Ground Rules was out of the running.

Jimmy Ryan took the five-furlong contest from stall one under Richard Quinn.
Some of the riders in the 21-runner field seemed undecided over exactly which route to take in the race, but Quinn was in no doubt and darted up the stands side to score on the progressive Tim McCarthy-trained colt.

Montgomery's Arch, trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam, held off Frankie Dettori's Mystical Land in a thrilling finish to give jockey Jimmy Fortune his second win of the day.
Obe Gold stumbled early in the race, unseating jockey Ted Durcan, while favourite Blue Dakota fell away disappointingly.
1515 William Hill Mile Heritage Handicap (1m)

Frankie Dettori timed his run on the Godolphin-trained Ancient World to perfection to triumph in arguably the most prestigious handicap race of the season.
Tuning Fork made all the early running but was easily caught and overtaken by the favourite a furlong out and Ancient World finished a length and a quarter ahead of Impeller in second. 1440 Oak Tree Stakes (7f)

Phantom Wind finished strongest, beating stablemate Nyramba to the post to give trainer John Gosden a one-two.
The filly appeared to be trapped on the rails but jockey Steve Drowne spotted a gap and burst through to clinch victory by half a length.

Alkaased, ridden by Jimmy Fortune and trained by Luca Cumani, justified his favourite status with a fine run to hold off a game First Charter and win by a neck.
Eastern Breeze pulled up with what looked like a serious leg injury.
