Lincolnshire hockey player Georgie Twigg has been named in the England squad for the Women's World Cup in Argentina later this month.

The 19-year-old from Doddington has won seven caps for England, five of them coming in July's Champions Trophy in which England won the bronze medal.

The World Cup in Roasario, Argentina, runs from 29 August to 11 September.

"I was a bit nervous before I got the email but I'm over the moon," Twigg told BBC Lincolnshire.

"The World Cup is a fantastic tournament to be part of and I think there'll be a great atmosphere out there in Argentina, so I'm really looking forward to it."

Twigg made her first start for England in the first warm-up match which ended in a 3-2 defeat by the United States.
