Twigg has been a regular for England at junior levels |
Lincolnshire hockey player Georgie Twigg has been called up to the England women's squad for the Champions Trophy tournament in Nottingham in July. Twigg, 19 from Doddington, won her first senior cap for Great Britain against Germany last month but has yet to represent England at senior level. She told BBC Lincolnshire: "It's really exciting but very unexpected. "As a youngster I've still got lots to learn so it's a great opportunity for me to learn from the best." England will face the Netherlands, Argentina, China, Germany and New Zealand at Highfields in Nottingham in the Champions Trophy from 10-18 July.
