Beeston suffered an agonising penalty shoot-out defeat in the Championship play-off final against East Grinstead.

Beeston led 4-1 going into the final 11 minutes of Monday's final at Cannock thanks to goals from Sam Ward, Jamie Parker and a brace from Matt Taylor.

But Jamie Carr scored a penalty corner treble to add to Danny Hall's strike and tie the scores at 4-4 at full-time.

And after a goalless golden goal extra time period, East Grinstead took the title 9-7 on penalty strokes.
