Guernsey's Ladies Hockey team say they need to play more games after going out in the round one of the Harrod Trophy. The team suffered a 6-0 defeat against Lewes in what is only their second year in tournament action. Ladies director of hockey Justine Curtis said lack of competition at home is a pressing issue for the team. She told BBC Guernsey: "It is a very difficult situation, we are lucky we can play in the men's division although the men's game is very different." Guernsey's isolated position means that travel arrangements are often one of the squad's most pressing issues. "One of the other major factors that we have is cost in trying to get off the island," said Curtis. "We were struggling for certain games to actually get the number of players to travel with us." The Guernsey team hopes to do a tour of England early next year, ahead of the inter-insular in March.
