Bichard took gold in the 1km time trial

Guernsey cyclist Jamie Bichard has won a further two medals, including a gold, at the Special Olympics in Leicester.

Bichard produced an amazing ride in the 1km time trial on Thursday finishing in one minute 48 seconds, six seconds ahead of his nearest rival.

In the 5km road race, held in atrocious weather conditions, Bichard was out-sprinted by the two riders with whom he had broken away, to end up with bronze.

Bichard had already won a silver medal in the 5km time trial on Tuesday.
