The Isle of Man's Special Olympians returned home to a heroes welcome on Sunday after their success at the World Winter Games in Idaho, USA. The Manx team claimed four gold medals and a silver at the competition. Double gold-winning snowshoe athlete Jody Blaney said: "It was very hard work but also great fun." The floor hockey team added the world title to their European crown after winning all 10 of their games, including beating the hosts. Lawrence Dyer, who scored 11 goals en-route to the final, told Manx Radio: "We're European and world champions now, which sounds great. "It's a team effort and we have to thank all of our excellent coaches too."
