Ramsey BMX Club give strong performance at Nationals

Shanaze Reade passed on some tips to the Manx riders

Ramsey BMX Club were again in action at rounds three and four of the 2010 British National BMX Series in Derby at the weekend.

Olympic stars Liam Phillips, Marcus Bloomfied and Shanaze Reade were all in attendance at the Alveston event.

Ramsey's Juan Watney told BBC Isle of Man: It is great for our young riders to be involved in this level of competition."

The fifth and sixth round will be held at Braintree over 11-13 June.

Colin Clague finished fifth in Saturday's final but crashed out of Sunday's to find himself fifth overall in the 15-16 cruiser class.

Meanwhile, Charlie Gibson continued his impressive start to the season to claim two top six finishes in the under-eights.

Brandon Cain enjoyed a string of good results to bump up to 12th in the 12 yrs class.

Elsewhere, Matt, Sophie and Holly Black, Lewis Parker and Tyler Cain all gained vital experience.

The Manx BMX Club stand 34th out of 56 in the team standings.
