Brothers John and James Mapley claimed a one-two as they dominated the first round of the Holeshot Downhill event.

John Mapley proved he was number one in the island by posting a lightning-fast time of 47.56sec, with his younger brother James second in 49.53sec.

Antony Renouf took third, with Matt Le Maitre fourth and Tom Sherwill fifth.

The event was held in Petit Bot valley on 27 April, with the course featuring jumps, drops and off camber corners which caught many riders out.
