Mancebo notches Spanish victory
Francisco Mancebo
Mancebo finally achieved success on his home tour
Francisco Mancebo won the 10th stage of the Tour of Spain from La Vall d'en Bas to Ordino-Arcalis in Andorra.

Fellow Spaniard Roberto Heras, among a group of five who finished the high mountain stage together, secured second with race leader Denis Menchov third.

Russia's Menchov retained the overall lead after fending off several attacks by Heras on the final climb.

Mancebo powered clear of the pack in the final metres before sprinting to his first stage win in a major tour.

"This victory been a long time coming, but this has been well worth the wait," he said.

Menchov said: "Today was a very important day and I am very satisfied with what I achieved. One day less to Madrid."
